T-ara N4 performs for the first time on M Countdown.

 

On May 2 at 6:00 p.m., M Countdown has held at the CJ E&M Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and T-ara N4 revealed its first song, “Countryside,” on the program. Previously, the group had not performed the new song for an audience. It was played only on radio.

 

Actors Kim Soo Mi and Choi Bul Am of the TV zeries Countryside Life  introduced the song, and the members of T-ara N4 did a comic skit in which they “weeded a field.”

 

After the amusing introduction, T-ara N4 gave a charismatic performance in splendid costumes accessorized with gold. The song has witty lyrics and an exciting melody, and the choreography is powerful, featuring the group’s sexy charm.

 

T-ara N4 released the new song and a music video of it on the afternoon of April 29. The song, composed by Double Kicks, is an electronic hip-hop dance song combined with Korean music.

 

Other singers who appeared on the program are Shinee, Roy Kim, 4minute, Secret, Seo In Guk, Dickpunks, and Hong Dae Kwang.

Ex-SS501 member Kim Hyung Joon recently made a promise of what to do for his fans when he ranks first.

In celebration of his second solo album, titled Escape, Kim held a showcase and a mini-concert at Ax-Korea in Gwangjang-dong, Seoul, on June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

When asked to make a promise of what to do for fans if he ranks first, the singer replied, “I’ll hold a complimentary concert for fans.”

Having released his first solo album, titled My Girl last year, Kim made a debut as an actor by being cast in cable TV KBS DRAMA’s Self Illuminating Her. The singer and actor has been drawing a lot of attention since he is coming back to his original job—a singer—for the first time since a year and four months ago.

In the music video of the title song “Sorry I’m Sorry,” Kang Ji Hwan and Le Gi Woo as well as Kim appear. Produced by director Cha Eun Taek, the music video is said to be a type of a road movie of 25 minutes long.

2PM’s Wooyoung said thank you to his fans after finishing his first solo performance.

On June 29, Wooyoung tweeted, “Today was really a special day to me. I gave my first performance and received the Best Cover Model Award for the first time. I really appreciate all my family, friends, and fans. I’ve just started. Please give me a lot of support and cheers.”

Wooyoung peformed “Sexy Lady” and “Tonight” at Mnet’s 20′s Choice Awards, which was held at the outdoor pool of Banyantree Club & Seoul on June 28. He impressed many viewers with his performance with full of groove; however, he made a mistake because of the wet stage while performing.

Along with his first solo performance, Wooyoung was also chosen as the best cover model by Men’s Health.

On June 26, T-ara’s Hyomin tweeted the photo with the caption, “Haha.”

In the photo, three T-ara members—Eunjung, Qri, and Hyomin sit in chairs.

Each of the cuties are seen with dyed hair with blue, green, and pink, which is eye-catching.

Netizens responded: “Blue hair stands out.” “They look like a traffic light.” “I like the colors.”

T-ara is to hold its first solo concert at Jamsil Gymnasium, Seoul, on August 11.

Han Ji-min takes Mnet drama award

Actress Han Ji-min won the “20’s Drama Star” prize at Mnet’s 20’s Choice Awards on Thursday at the Banyan Tree Club and Spa in central Seoul.

The awards, which are determined by netizens from six locales, cited Han’s work in the drama “Rooftop Prince.”

Han emerged onto the stage in the club’s pool area to claim her prize and thanked “the staff and actors who took part in the drama.” Han said she was grateful for the award and that she plans to continue to strive to become a better actress.

Others nominees in the category were Yoona from Girls’ Generation, Ha Ji-won, Shin Se-kyung and Jung Ryeo-won.

The award show, which is in its sixth year, gave out awards in 20 categories. Fans from Korea and abroad voted online, while agencies and industry experts also took part in various surveys.

Other winners included Suzy from Miss A and actors Han Hye-jin and Kim Soo-hyun. Kim won for best male drama star and “Hot Star” of the moment.

2NE1′s Sandara Park Reveals Startling New Hairdo

YG Entertainment on its official blog on Wednesday morning posted a photo of 2NE1 member Sandara Park flashing a startling new hairdo with the caption “2012 0705.”

It was part of a campaign to promote the girl band’s release of their new album on July 5.

The photo shows Park in a leopard-print dress and flashy accessories, but the hairdo was her most remarkable attribute, with one side featuring long, wavy locks and the other side completely shaved.

Park has repeatedly caught attention with her bold hairstyles.

2NE1 are set to play Seoul on July 28 and 29, kicking off a seven-nation tour entitled “New Evolution.”

JYJ featured in French daily paper

JYJ featured in French daily paper

 

Boy band JYJ was featured in France’s Le Parisien daily newspaper on Wednesday in an article on the group’s rise to international fame.

The article, titled “K-pop conquers South America,” delved into the appeal of the trio, commenting on its “addictive lyrics and perfectly synchronized dance moves.”

JYJ’s success in South America was highlighted with the mentioning of the band’s recent world tour, which had the group make stops in 15 cities across the globe.

The fact that an Asian group managed to perform for fans in European countries as well as in Chile and Peru was deemed a phenomenal feat by the French paper.

The report also mentioned the group’s official “Membership Week,” which opened yesterday at Setec convention hall in southern Seoul, and saw more than 7,000 Japanese fans visiting Korea for the chance to meet the boy band members. More than 3,500 hotel rooms have been booked for the fan event.

The paper called JYJ a “Hallyu group that knows no bounds.”

Girl group T-ara has transformed into warriors.

On June 21, pictures of Eunjung, Hyomin, and Ji Yeon shooting a music video for their new song “Day By Day” were released online. A picture of Dani, the 9th member of T-ara, and Hyomin was released previously but the pictures of Ji Yeon and Eunjung have never been released before.

The 20 minute SF music video is directed by Cha Eun Taek. It is about a future city in 2330 and group members have transformed themselves unconventionally for the music video.

 

Ji Yeon went blond and Eunjung went black for the music video. Hyomin also went red and showed off her charismatic charms.

The three members are wearing unique costumes and holding long swords while fighting.

There are no cute and familiar girls but there are powerful and strong girls.

 

T-ara will release their song “Day By Day” on July 3. Ah Reum, the 8th member of the group, will join the group too. Dani, who appeared in the music video, will join the group later this year.

T-ara will hold a ceremony to celebrate the foundation of their official fan club Queen’s on July 14 at Kyunghee University. They will also hold their first exclusive concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on August 11.

Super Junior is to come out with a new album on July 1.

On June 21, its agency, SM Entertainment told, “Super Junior is to pre-released the audios of the all songs from the sixth studio album, titled Sexy, Free & Single.”

The album will be out for the first time since the group’s fifth album, which was released in last August. That will have been about 11 months since the last album release. Having returning from the army last April, Gang In also confirmed to join the team. Gang In’s joining has been boosting fans’ expectations.

Last year, Super Junior hit it big by sweeping music charts in overseas as well as in Korea with is fifth album title song, “Mr. Simple.” The group also made a sensation as the album went Half Million—the group sold over five hundred thousand copies of the fifth album.

Starting from last November, the successful group went on a world tour titled Super Show 4, consisting of 24 concerts. The tour lasted six month in 10 different cities, including Seoul, Osaka, Singapore, Makao, attracting 400,000 fans.

 

Starting from June 21, Super Junior is to release a teaser image of the members one by one, prior to its new album release, with the kick-off of Eunhyuk’s.

The group’s sixth studio album will also be out in offline shops on July 4.

When the Wonder Girlsheld a press conference in southern Seoul on June 19, Sunye took the time to speak about the decision she made in making her romantic relationship status public.

“The process helped me a lot, not just from a musical perspective but in all aspects of life,” Sunye said in regards to having gone public about dating a missionary back in November last year.

“I’ve said it before but my relationship with my boyfriend is not like those lovey dovey puppy love that you experience in your teens. A lot of people thought that I shouldn’t have made the announcement but I thought it was the right time,” Sunye said.

She said that unfortunately, fans were divided between either supporting or being against her dating.
“It has made me think a lot about how I’m perceived by those who love me,” Sunye explained.
Meanwhile, Yeeun from the group made the reporters laugh by lamenting that guys don’t approach the girl group members “because they think we are overseas all the time.”
